The Union Cabinet has made a move that will provide customers who have been feeling the pressure of rising costs a sigh of relief in time for the approaching Raksha Bandhan celebrations. The Gas Cylinder Price of a 14.2 kg LPG cooking gas cylinder has been significantly reduced by Rs. 200, as part of a measure to provide assistance to households in the face of ongoing economic difficulties and inflationary trends.

Government’s Raksha Bandhan Gift

Anurag Thakur, the Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, announced the news and explained that this choice was made as a special gift in observance of both Onam and Raksha Bandhan. By significantly lowering the price of domestic LPG cylinders, the government has demonstrated its commitment to reducing financial constraints, especially for women.

Beneficiaries of PM Ujjwala Yojana Also Benefit

Beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), a program aimed at providing households formerly dependent on less effective ways with cleaner cooking fuel, are also helped by this price reduction. This action demonstrates the government’s commitment to enhancing individuals’ lives by supplying them with readily available and reasonably priced necessities.

New Prices Set to Take Effect

In the national capital, a 14.2 kilogram LPG cylinder currently costs Rs. 1,103. On Wednesday, the updated price will be marked at 903, signaling a change. Beneficiaries of the PMUY program will feel even more relief as the cost is reduced further to 703 rupees. This comes after the PMUY scheme’s 200 rs per-cylinder subsidy was already extended in March, highlighting the government’s ongoing initiatives to support people in need.

Increasing Household Power

Minister Thakur also unveiled a great effort to empower households, particularly women, in addition to the price drop. Under the Ujjwala program, the government intends to offer 75 lakh new LPG connections gratis. This additional effort shows the government’s continued commitment to helping households by adding to the 9.6 crore beneficiaries who have previously benefited from discounted LPG connections.

Taking Care of Inflationary Pressures

Oil marketing organizations recently increased the price of household LPG cylinders by 50 in reaction to the trend toward higher energy prices worldwide. This action was taken in July. This choice represents the duty of the government to moderate the effects on consumers while balancing domestic prices with global trends.

Continued Relief Measures

The PMUY beneficiaries’ stipend was one of many relief measures that were put in place last year. These actions show how committed the administration is to protecting citizens from economic hardships by addressing the effects of rising international energy costs.

A Glimmer of Hope Among the Festive Celebrations

The nation is preparing to celebrate Raksha Bandhan and Onam, therefore the drop in LPG cylinder prices provides households with a much-needed break. It affirms the government’s dedication to assisting citizens in difficult economic times and strikes a cheery note as families join together to celebrate
